Young Lady's Need For Speed Found In Her DNA
Meet Camrie Caruso, who started racing at the age of 8. You could say her need for speed is found in her DNA.
Playoff football is here. The run for a state championship starts for many teams in our area.
Our Bahakel Sports Game of the Week presented by Bojangles has Marvin Ridge taking the short drive to Weddington. Bahakel Sports reporter Jeff Taylor has a preview of this neighborhood playoff match-up.
Two teams that know each other all too well. They are just five miles apart and just played each other a week ago. Wedding came out on top 24-21.
“Up 17 nothing at half, you know we lifted the foot off the gas a little bit, but credit to Marvin, they continued to play hard and they always had a good game plan.”
“For us it is just make adjustments, highlight what we did really well last week. I mean we just played these guys seven days ago, so there is a lot of familiarity and it is just going to really be who executes the best.”
Last week’s game may still be on the minds of the Mavericks, who also got kicked from the playoffs last season in the second round by guess who? The Warriors.
“It is definitely some motivation. I mean they have some history of knocking us out. I mean that is definitely some motivation going into the game.”
Both teams know they cannot think about last season or even last week. What they do know is it will take four quarters of their best football to move on to the next round.
“We need to get the ball in our receivers hands so they can make plays and we know we can do that, but we just need to do a better job of it this time.”
“We got to make sure we play a clean game, a full game. I think if we put a full game together, obviously we will have our best chance”
“Start fast, win the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Started definitely slow on offense. I thought defensively they held us in the game early. I say start fast and you got to win both lines of scrimmage”
