CHARLOTTE, NC – This coming Sunday they will run the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. It will be packed with more than one hundred thousand fans and for a lot of those fans, Talladega is not a day trip, but a destination and that means a boost for the local economy.
“We have about eighty thousand seats in our grandstand, plus forty five suites, plus almost three thousand RV spots in our infield and we sell out of our RV spots every race weekend. We are over one hundred and twenty five thousand people here for our races throughout the weekend,” said Brian Crichton, Track President.
“You need to leave a little earlier to get to work and it takes a little longer to get home. They are inconveniences, but we love the race,” said Ryan Ponder.
“I am a frequent visitor, and we have been coming for thirty years, to both races every year,” said one die hard NASCAR fan.
Everything is now building to the running of the GEICO 500 on Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway, the biggest and baddest track on the NASCAR circuit. Make sure you stick with Bahakel Sports for all of your NASCAR coverage.
