New technology lab opens at Hendrick Motorsports

CONCORD, N.C. – Hendrick Motorsports held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday for a new quality control lab. It is called the Hexagon center for Quality Excellence. With their partnership with Hexagon, Hendrick Motorsports has the technology in house to help the teams become more efficient when it comes to working on all the details of a racecar. Chad Knaus, NASCAR Hall of Fame member and Vice President of Competition, says this technology and what it provides is priceless.

“The opportunities are endless. We have got machines that saves us hours and hours. You load it with the part, it picks up that part, it puts it in the fixture. Then it measures it, it categorizes it and puts it back on the shelf. We come in the next day and sort them where they need to go for the appropriate race car,” said Knaus.
