Since it’s inception, the Charlotte FC and the Carolina Panthers have had to bunk together under one roof. While the Panthers occupy most of that space, the FC were confined to a portion of the stadium, with their practice fields miles away. Now the little brother is getting their own room, one that would make even the closest sibling jealous.

“It was very important to Dave and Nicole {Tepper} to bridge that gap. It is the fabric of who we want to be as a club, progressive, dynamic and inclusive,” said Joe LaBue, the president of Charlotte FC.

The first team, the MLS NEXT Pro Crown Legacy squad, multiple youth training academy teams and the business side of things now have one place to call home. Owners David and Nicole Tepper pulled out all of the stops, with a little help from Atrium Health.

“These individuals that are icons to us heroes to us on the field they go out and motivate our next generation of care givers of sports enthusiasts and we know that is incredibly important to a healthy community, and that is what we are all about,” said Ken Haynes, the president of Advocate Health, Southeast region.

It is the first-of-its-kind facility, situated not inside of a downtown area, but instead in the intersection of multiple neighborhoods in east Charlotte. Tepper, ever the entrepreneur, emphasized that this just the beginning.

“When you bring a facility like this into a place like this, into a neighborhood like this, that’s the dream that was, It’s the dream that is, that you guys are experiencing with us,” said Tepper.
