Charlotte’s Elijah Cole Pole Vaults For Olympic Dream

Elijah Cole is chasing the ultimate athletic dream. The Charlotte 49ers alum made the Philippines National Track & Field Team and is in striking distance of Olympic qualification.  Cole grew up in Raleigh and earned a scholarship to Charlotte. The fearless athlete reached a personal best 17’6” and qualified for the NCAA National Meet in 2021. Cole’s passion is in pole vaulting but his identity will always be with his Filipino heritage. At 25, Cole is more motivated than ever to pursue track and field professionally, and finally has financial support from the Philippines.  This summer Cole will compete in the South East Asian Games. Cole’s goal is to add a foot to his personal best mark and qualify for the 2024 Olympics.
