CHAROTTE, NC – On Saturday night, pure jubilation for the Seminoles of Florida State, winning the ACC Championship. Fast forward twelve hours and the jubilation was replaced with shock and disbelief. For the first time in the history of the College Football Playoff, an undefeated power five school that won it’s conference championship was left out. No shot at a national championship. Bahakel Sports Analyst, Reggie Walker, who is also an radio and tv analyst, was not surprised by the snub.
“They looked at the scenario that game them the fact that no on could push back on. And the fact is Jordan Travis is hurt. The fact is Florida State is not the same team. The fact that Florida State has not looked good since Jordan Travis went down. Those are all facts,” said Walker.
Facts or not, FSU not making the playoffs has stirred up questions. From whether a quarterback is all that matters on a football team, to where does the ACC stand in the eyes of the college football world.
“Who were the loudest about potentially leaving the ACC? Everybody around Florida State. This is just going to add fuel to the fire if they choose to pull out the bottle of lighter fluid.”
Whether the CFP Committee made the right or wrong decision about the final four for the playoff, Florida State will play Georgia in the the Orange Bowl and if you are a player for FSU, how should you feel about playing in that game?
“Playing in that game and getting hurt is the difference between four hundred thousand dollars and thirty million. If someone had told me that, guess what I would have said? I ain’t going nowhere near a field until I get my millions. So I completely get what these kids are doing when they do this and opt out of bowl games.”
