Local Wake Surfer Wins Second World Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -“I got into wake surfing around 2015 when i attended a local dealers wakea surf Wednesdays, basically an introduction to the sport for beginners. I remember dropping the rope for the first time and I was hooked,” says Keith Pohl.

And since that moment almost ten years ago, Keith Pohl has put his heart and soul into a sport he loves, a sport that everyone can enjoy.

“Wake surfing is something that everyone can enjoy, but it is also one of those sports where you can continue to hone your skills and learn new tricks. In fact we are seeing new tricks added to the sport every season and that is super exciting to be a part of.”

Keith’s hard work and dedication to the sport of wake surfing has certainly paid off. Just last month he won his second world championship at the age of 49.

“At this point I am roughly fifteen years older than the starting age of the division I compete in and I am sporting a multitude of braces, so it is not lost on me how blessed I am to be competing at such a high level.”

With that positive attitude, Keith will continue to make a positive mark on this sport and those who might follow in his wake.
