Panthers Host Annual 11–On High School Tournament

As the summer begins, high school football teams across the Carolinas are already getting ready for Friday night football. Three powerhouse programs from South Carolina and the defending North Carolina private school state champs got to kick off their summer workouts with the Carolina Panthers.

Its not often a Charlotte school is outnumbered by high schools from the Palmetto state but that was the way the stage was set for the annual Carolina Panthers Nike 11-0 high school tournament. It’s all about tradition. Deemed the passing tournament, this event comes with all the fun and intensity of a normal 7 on 7 showcase. Usually these events are just for the skill players, but the Panthers wanted to give the big men a chance to show their skills., which was enough to get the top high school player in the country to take a break from his continuing college visits.

About halfway through things came to a halt due to storms in the area. That did not stop the competition, as the skill players went inside to cheer on their teammates in the trenches. The event never got to finish, which is why Chad Grier was pleased with the way his defending champs performed. The reigning NCISAA champions took home their fourth straight 11-on trophy.
