Recognizing The Inaugural Chicago Street Race At The NASCAR Hall Of Fame

The NASCAR Hall of Fame and NASCAR have partnered to recognize the inaugural Chicago Street Race in the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C. The NASCAR Hall of Fame exhibit, which will recognize the historic first-ever NASCAR Cup Series street race event, was officially unveiled at an event and ribbon-cutting at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in advance of the 2024 Chicago Street Race Weekend on July 6-7. Shane Van Gisbergen, who won the race last year in his first NASCAR Cup race driving for Trackhouse Racing, was on hand for the ribbon cutting. The display has such memorabilia as his firesuit, shoes and helmet that he wore that day. Here is what Shane had to say about the new exhibit.

“It is a privilege that is for sure and pretty cool to have our own little momento for it in a place like this is cool. As I said, I came in here to look through the Hall of Fame before Chicago last year, so to now have something in here, it is pretty epic.”
