Both the players and coaches are ready for opening night.

“We are excited, the team is excited. I know that the community is excited and energized so we need to play our role as a club and as a team and it should be a great opening day,” said head coach, Philip Poole.

for a number of players on the ascent, this coming saturday night will be somewhat of a homecoming as the team features several players from the charlotte area, most of whom have played professionally overseas.

“I think Charlotte is just an amazing sports atmosphere. We are just really excited for women’s soccer to be in the mix with the FC and the Independence. There is just so much opportunity, so we are ready to go,” said Ashlynn Serepca, a midfielder for the Ascent.

Game time is set for 7pm and a few tickets still remain.
