The Newest Professional Sports Team Is Set To Hit The Queen City

The Super League is coming to Charlotte. The brand new division one women’s pro soccer league is set to take the pitch in August. It’s one of nine teams in the league and will share its home with the Independence, so it is only fitting that a familiar face take over as manager. Wingate bulldogs legend, Philip Poole spent time with the Independence, the Charlotte Eagles, and as an assistant for the national women’s team.

“to be a part of that momentum and be a part of the future, is exciting. and i think we’ve got this opportunity coming up with this especially with womens’ professional soccer, but not only that but womens’ professional sports to really change this community and change the game forever. and thats back to my point earlier, i can’t believe it’s taken this long and now that we have this opportunity i think we have to maximize it.”
