Volleyball Phenom, Ryan Hunter Is Striving For Greatness At Cox Mill And Beyond
CHARLOTTE, N.C.– Ryan Hunter is gifted; she could very well be a corporate CEO, a championship coach or dominate the planet in some impressive way. For now, the volleyball phenom from Charlotte is feasting on North Carolina and swinging with ‘Husker Power’.
“The adrenaline just rushes in. Nothing is stopping me in that moment,” Hunter said.
One of the most coveted recruits in North Carolina history is a junior at Cox Mill High School. Ryan Hunter brings brilliance with every swing.
“I strive for greatness anyway I can. When opportunities are given to me, I’m going to jump head first at them,” Hunter said.
For the nation’s number two ranked opposite hitter, being light on her feet with immaculate rhythm has been the case since age two – but as a competitive dancer. “She would dance in front of thousands of people and it goes to show how hard she really works. She just goes for what she wants,” Cox Mill Head Coach Maya Hunter said.
The meteoric rise and mega-talent earned Hunter a scholarship to Nebraska. The five-time national champion, rabidly-followed, culture-setting program has transformed the landscape for women’s athletics.
Hunter was there when Nebrasa sold-out Memorial Stadium for a match in August. Ninety-two thousand people broke the world record for attendance at a women’s sporting event.
Before she joins the ‘Sea of Red’, Ryan Hunter sees championship possibilities at Cox Mill.
